Hola Mi Amigo!
I'm Jason and I am a musical/visual artist who lives in Brooklyn. I love to read, write, draw and open up to new ideas. Likewise, I have been told by many that I am a muse, an inspiration and a positive force in their lives. I reside in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn after spending many years in Bensonhurst, Kensington, and prior to my move here: 5 years in the South Park Slope Area. I was born in Coney Island in 1981. In 2012 everyone has a blog. This is mine.
I play in clubs bars and small venues from time to time as a member of the JSE and the Pretentious Pretenses- but I do this under pseudonyms. Some names I go by are Jason Sharp, Eric Claptop, Wheelbarrow Tinderbox, DjJ Deadfish, Shithead, Puke Numbskull, Elijah Should and Poindexter Q. Twinklebottom.

I started A Black Tie Affair in 2006 and have been feuding with shitty bands who have the same name ever since. I also sing for Cereal Hero Killer, and play with Smokin' Joe Haines and Natalia McCarty in the LoveMuffins. For my solo work I have released records as Elijah Should, Magic Nose Goblins, Tidewaterdeadfish and Second Hand Coke- As "Jay Sharp" I have released seven acoustic EPs. Click on the #Pages and #Links buttons above to sample, stream, download or purchase my music.

I started listening to rock music in 1995. I was a sophomore in high school when Billy Corgan completely changed my life. I sometimes believe he may have even saved my young, dumb life. I can clearly remember songs like Siva and Galapagos "talking me down off the ledge" so to speak.

Since then, I've become confident, a bit of a dude, and a full time musician (read as having very little money and very much life experience- I haven't had a full time job in I dunno how long) Basically I deem myself an authority on what rocks after surviving 11+ years of gigging in the "new york shitty" club scene.

I am also uber-supportive of all my friends, yet ones who not only make good music, but are also supportive, will more likely appear on these pages time and time again. You don't have to take my word for it, just click on the search box and type in your name or your bands' name. (I tag everything on this site) Artistic endeavors, especially those within the field of rocking music will be featured. (often)

I accept submissions, and If I deem they rock, they'll be on this blog.

"I Believe This Rocks" is Another extension of the Fish Fantasy Universe by Jay Sharp.

(I Believe This Rocks! was my 10th blog. I now moderate over 50.)

<3 you all, not for reading this, but for just being who you are. Don't ever lose your individuality.
